Today was a good day. I dedicated today to my grandma and someone named Spencer. Spencer was someone who was impacted by Ulman and was able to stay at Ulman House for close to 100 nights. He sadly passed away in 2020 and his story was written by his mom and was so impactful. I ran today with Dan and we had a good 7 miles together. The weather was great today and there was even a cool breeze. At one point Dan and I ran up a part of a mountain that was about 800 feet and then we got the joy of running down a 12% grade for half a mile! We ended up hitting a 6:45 pace as we just floated down the hill with no effort – it was so fun! We laughed as we ran down the hill too. After that we had lunch at, you guessed it, Subway again. They donated foot longs for us and I ate a whole meatball sandwich – I didn’t realize how hungry I was. Then we went to our campsite for the night and some people found that they wanted to see if we could get a place indoors to stay and they were successful. Best Western donated 4 rooms with 2 king beds each so some people will sleep there and some will camp (if they want!) I secured the end of a king bed so I am looking forward to that. When we got to the campsite, I walked around a bit and of course checked out the gift shop. This campsite is huge and is the closest one to Bryce Canyon. I was going to go in the hot tub, but it was SO crowded so I decided to come back instead and shower. Some people are about to head to Bryce Canyon now, but I’m going to stay back and eat some dinner and then go to bed to take advantage of the beds.
